We fear what’s in our future but we love to face the past We say that we are happy but always look for greener grass We think the other side is better: happy days, complacent weather But once we pass the river tide, arms unfolded, strengthened pride: finally the other side we see, better weather but still the same me Never lead your doubts astray lest they fall into the hands of weaker prey: temptation, hate, fortified greed; don't let such weaknesses take your lead, for in the way of your happiness they impede Rather than going to the other side why not stand in the middle and enjoy the tide Appreciate the graceful river flow Face the challenges that drown you, let them help you grow The River will teach you all you need to know, life and loves secrets, components necessary to grow There is no need to focus on the things that passed; River knows that only success in the present lasts Remember the river and all of its presence; never let ungratefulness be the source of your pride and essence So always remember that though the grass may seem greener on the other side, that someone else may not even have grass in which to preside
