Devil's Bend

November 11, 2014

Devil’s Bend

Standing in the corner crying

Always alone, forever dying

No relief, never an end

For those who walk the Devil’s Bend

Yelling out to the empty chasm

The body screaming with every spasm

No relief, never an end

When forced to walk the Devil’s Bend

Silent shrieks and violent shouts
Always hiding behind a shroud of doubt

Head throbbing and body aching

Here on this lonely road, forever shaking

No relief, never an end

For those who walk the Devil’s Bend

Some may make it, some may not

For some die of cold, others die hot

No one knows from where it came

But it is here all the same

No relief, never an end,

When I alone walked the Devil’s Bend

Through sorrow, through pain

There will be much to gain
Some may not, some may

But know that that you will one day

No relief, never an end

Waiting for the end of the Devil’s Bend

So if while on the Bend, you come across a lonely soul

Do not walk on its bed of coal

But if you do, and he lets you in

Then you know that you have made it to his hearts barest den

Some relief, maybe an end

I was once on the Devil’s Bend

But now I see what you have done

Never alone, shining like the sun

For you know now that I love you too

I know now that it will always be me and you

Whence you see us hand in hand

Know there is a chance to leave this wretched land

Never alone, we have found the end

Of the terror of Devil’s Bend
