Deep Drive [song] - DOG DAYS ARE OVER

May 13, 2017
12/28/2016 As flesh clad together turn in my mind, Something I’ve abstained from and so I find, Hair slick back, shoulders, back, and chest Have it in my mind and thoughts give me no rest Highlighted by a face Faces I see for the first time, Making my heart race and my body tremble, Rushing and gushing me against odds of “norms” Musky smells and deep tones of cello A hot night, relaxed with each other in the other to get me finally mellow... I’m being driven by my drive To take your shields off and crawl inside Even if we don’t get it right the first time... (I’ll try, try, try...) I keep stealing a stare Stealing and shooting pictures of each piece until I have a complete frame To pass by over and over and over again to replay In my mind til I reach the point of no return... Then return to numbness to repeat the cycle again. A tug, a pull From the depths of history Into my brains and injected into my blood It nearly reaps control and takes me over temporarily Replay you to my likening til nothing else I can think of, Every pose possible, condensed into a single time frame... That dissipates but comes back and leaves with my relief Of your “purity” I’ll be the thief (But share with you beneath) Oh Adam, take off the leaves...~ I’m being driven by my drive To take your shields off and crawl inside Even if we don’t get it right the first time... (I’ll try, try, try...) I keep stealing a stare Stealing and shooting pictures of each piece until I have a complete frame To pass by over and over and over again to replay In my mind til I reach the point of no return... Then return to numbness to repeat the cycle again. (And through all this, if I’ve gotten to know you I remind myself... that you’re still you. I’ll still appreciate you For who you really are... you.) Then the chills come back, travel from north to south, Put me at a pleasant unease And so I still want to rip us open so we can both feel the breeze... Let the words come right out my mouth: “I Want You” Pride through prose; the world: the grave of my innocence I’ll let them put the pieces back together, even if it won’t make sense. Then return to numbness to repeat the cycle again
