Dear Everything

February 4, 2018

Dear Everything,

When did you become so complicated?

Every day and Every moment either lasts an eternity,

Or it lasts but a second.

A small drop in the puddle that is my life

And I am left afloat -

No I am left sinking,

Wondering about the moment you became

Too much and not enough.

When the world went from simplicity

To becoming more and more confusing

With Every passing minute.

So tell me, when did it change?

When did you start feeling heavy;

As if you were a weight of my shoulders

And the ground I stood on was quicksand,

Leaving me struggling to find my way out.

Perhaps it involves knowledge,

Knowing that there is Everything.

Or, perhaps it is just about realizing

That I don't have to sink,

I just have to take it one step at a time.
