If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

I started writing poetry my sophomore year of high school, after I had been inspired by an Andrea Gibson video. It was the first time I'd written a poem since I was in elementary school, and the first time I'd written one on my own time. When I finished it, and had shared it with my family, I realized just how much I enjoyed writing poetry. I started writing more, and just writing whatever came into my head, and kept on writing and writing for months and months on end. It's been a bit over two years since my sophomore year, and within that time I've written more than 300 poems. Along with poetry, I also enjoy theatre, photography, and people-watching.
