It has been a year of many trials and tribulations –

I did not know if I would be able to make it through.

My world shattered and changed in the blink of an eye–

There was nothing I could do but watch it happen.

So much has been lost –

That car almost destroyed me.

Everything was pushed to the limit –

My mind, my body, my faith.

All of my struggles appeared too great –

Pain was evident every step of the way.

The person I became was pitiful –

Confidence disappeared and bitterness emerged to take its place.

But, with time, things changed once again –

Who I used to be was in reach.

Rehabilitation was possible –

Perseverance allowed me to regain my happiness.

Each day marked a new beginning –

Although it was challenging, I began to find a version of my myself that I could be proud of.

With the hopes of surmounting all trials, only one thought remained –

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
