To Fly

September 8, 2014

I have a simple dream

To fly high in the sky

How ironic to me, it seems

As I am deathly afraid of heights

Still, I cannot help but wonder

How it feels to be any bird

Flying under one's own power

But free, that's the only word

Soaring through the fresh, clean air

With only half a care in the world

Nothing feels better, I'll swear

If you don't try, you can't be too sure

Forever, it will remain my dream

To fly so high in the sky

How ironic it is this dream

It's still great, not knowing why
