His heart

July 12, 2018

I learned that poetry could rustle.

Take wing. It was subtle enough

that quiet and disruption could dwell

on the same page. It was delicate

enough to express my h e a r t a c h e

and the desire of my heart. It could

envelope me with emotion and

cover me in my pain but it didn't

give me an a n s w e r . Not until

He opened His Word to me. His

Word could sing. It would gently

lift my heart to sing praises to Him.

His Word stirred me to life. It is

filled with His heart.

He extended His hand to me through

the poetry of His Word. His Word

blesses me. It soothed my heartache.

It made me want to run after Him. It

was not empty nor did it make me cower

away from Him.

His Word is a love song

carried by the morning wind.

It echoes

around and around me.

His Word is a commanding voice

that stirs me to action.

His Word is a lasting promise

to be carved upon my heart.

"The grass withers

and the flowers fall,

but the word of the Lord

stands forever."
