The Great Divide

December 17, 2013

Threshold.

Holding not the end.

But the end of this rope

That would slip

Between my grasp.

Divided.

Divide myself from

Who I was created

Created to be.

The Great Divide

Comes with connotation

Of history,

But also my history

Everyone’s history.

Too great to step

Or jump

Or leap.

Not too great to slip

And fall

To the threshold.

I can-

Not

Get myself over.

Only a Savior

To bridge the gap

Over the threshold.

Holding me

Carrying

Across the Great Divide.
