Weighty Words

December 17, 2013

Weighty words

Fall from my mouth

They sink into the earth

And a light foot skims over them

Not feeling

Not sinking

Just continuing on in the light breeze.

Flippant words

Fall from my mouth

They slap my friend

And either a laugh or grimace appear

Not understanding

Not recognizing

Just how much they reveal.

Feather words

Fall from my mouth

They float up and away

And look pretty in the light

Not speaking

Not revealing

Just a way to agree and move on.

Fantastic words

Fall from my mouth

They awe and inspire

And someone writes them down

Not sensing

Not realizing

Just enraptured in adjectives.

True words

Fall from my mouth

They land.

And they were not from myself

Not from my heart

Not from my mind

Just truth that was read and must be shared.
