The Same Sad Ending

March 16, 2014

In this box of broken promises I find little solace
I sit alone by the fireplace
I watch all that we were burn in this pile
All your lies echo as they smolder and die
My future seems so dim
What lies ahead is bleak
I held you promises close to my heart, but I divulge, they meant nothing in retrospect
All that I invested was carelessly thrown back at me
Never again will I believe that someone is too kind to betray me
Not once more will I think that a person is not capable of the pain you have given me
Tears slowly roll down my face
I weep not for the loss of you but the same sad ending told all over again
