Creator: Created

February 20, 2015

"Not weedless, but beautiful,"

Says the gardener of her flowers.

"Not eternal, but sturdy,"

Says the builder of his house.

"Not worth a million dollars, but priceless."

Says the artist of her work.

What creator says of the created-

"You are not perfect, so I do not adore you."

A thing is not flawless because it lacks wear,

Or because it has no fault.

A thing is flawless because its beauty is seen

By the one who ardently admires it.

"Not perfect, and I adore you."

Says the creator of the created.

"Not perfect, but flawless,"

Says the mother to her child.
