The Pursuit of Equality

July 27, 2014

Every person should be happy and free,

Religion, race, sex; those things don't matter;

Who are they to stop me from being me?

Don't knock down my dreams, don't make them shatter.

They shun me because I don't follow their priest,

Blindly following a man in the sky,

Who are they to treat a man like a beast?

Praising a theory, never asking why.

Look past the surface, search deeper inside,

Discover aspirations and feelings;

We are all the same, your so called God lied,

Acceptance is the first step to healing.

Differences aside we are all people,

Reconsider the words of your steeple.
