For Freedom

July 7, 2014

I write words

simple sayings and

annunciated actions

I speak for myself

For those too quiet

to even whisper

For those who've been sick

In the mind or sick

In the body

I write these words to speak to those

To them

To us

Who have tasted

Bitterness

And hatred of self

and of others

I write to renew the soul

To express expansion of thought

To sing for the spirit

To dance in the sun of voice and

The heat of emotion

I write for you

But mostly

I write for me
Because I must write

To be truly free
