Why Do You Do It?

September 28, 2017

It’s all for me to do my best

Daughter, princess, my little girl,

Over and over he’s called me these words.

In the morning and at night, his work never ceases,

The day he should rest had become for me.

Because I work hard, he works harder

Each accomplishment I make, he makes another

Consistently providing because of his efforts, but without him

A future for me would be nonexistent.

Universities call for payments and loans, but without him

Soon I would be out on my own.

Every day I wonder why do you do it?

I do it because you’re by daughter, my princess, and my little girl.

Lucky was I to be blessed with you, an

Overachiever, lover, and worker.

Vested am I in you because you were born to me.

Even though these words may mean trivial things, and

You may question still my dedication, but I say

Over all of these,

Unless you take a look at each first letter, you will never truly know why I do it for you
