Dream

May 24, 2014

You laugh and scoff

At my poverty

You laugh and scoff

For you have it all

But it is not this way at all

You laugh and scoff

At the pain I feel

You laugh and scoff

For your life is free and easy

But it will amount to greatness

You laugh and scoff

Again and again

But no more hiding behind words

I have a dream

You can not take it away

I've trusted some with it

But it they have only denied

No listening or believing

Causing me to starve it

But now, well fed, it grows again

I dream

You can not stop me

I hold this intangible item in the heart

Me and it will not come apart

No ridicule in our way.
