Ink

August 15, 2013

My hands hover over a keyboard

Suspended by strings

Tied to silver rings

Screwed into my fingers,

My skull, and every inch of my body,

Into my very soul

Controlled by whom?

Perhaps by the man in the room

With that smile

That knows just how to make me dance

I lose myself in a trance, twisting, contorting

Consorting with demons, stitching

Our names together

My hands hover over a keyboard

Suspended by strands of spider webs

Wrapped around my fingers

My skull, and every inch of my body,

Around my very soul

Tightening, strangling,

Killing me

With my unwritten thoughts and memories,

My loves, regrets, and fears

I wet the keys with my tears

Try to move, to type the words

So desperate to be heard

Perhaps I can speak

I open my mouth

And out pours ink
