Uncle Steve

July 15, 2014

Uncle Steve

A man safely sleeping in his hospital bed.

Our family is hoping everything will be alright.

Doctors come in only to say what needs to be said.

They found a tumor on the back of his head

Hoping that he can put up the fight.

A man safely sleeping in his hospital bed.

They found out the cancer had spread.

Not wanting to leave him for the night

Doctors come in only to say what needs to be said.

Waiting to hear news that we all dread

Holding on with all of his might.

A man safely sleeping in his hospital bed.

I’m wishing it was me instead.

Knowing he is now going toward the light.

Doctors come in only to say what needs to be said

The man laying there is now dead

I can’t stand the sight,

A man safely sleeping in his hospital bed

Doctors come in only to say what needs to be said.
