Subtle

November 5, 2020

You ever so slightly,

Lightly,

Carefully,

Wound yourself around me

I invite you in after telling you to go away

Never return, leave me in my sorrows

You place your hand under my chin

Step closer,

I smell your sweet, warm breath

It feels so familiar,

So comforting,

A sensation I've felt on the back of my neck

At the beginning of dawn

Before 6 AM

Your strong arm lazily slings around my torso,

Peace at last.
