Wake

March 22, 2014

Wake me up so I can dream.

So I can escape through the clutches

Of this small world.

Take me away from my screams.

From my nightmares where reality touches

The fragile wall of imagination.

I refuse to obey the commands of my mind

That pound down my actions.

I will search for the diamonds of my thoughts.

The gold I dig for I will find

So I can heal the truths

That break my spirit.

The desperation of the demons inside me

Claws at my carefully set façade.

Forever I will know and remember

The thoughts and memories that plague

My shattered soul.

I need new, I need forever.

I want to escape this cloud of thunder.

The rain drowns me and I feel the sizzle of pulsing

Running through my brain.

Terror, fear, I deny it all.

But hiding, they peak over the darkness.

I shake my head and cover my face.

No, no, no, I will shake this horrifying

Prison of my mind.
