Broken&Never Truly Fixed

January 21, 2015

I want to fly away
To get away from this place
Sad to say I can't
I have a broken wing
Surrounded by giants I've always feared
Never have I been this scared
Learning my surroundings won't help
This isn't my home
These creatures are trying to be nice
But how can I trust what ive been taught to fear?
This cage binds me here
They let me out but back in I go
Fixing my wing won't help
My heart will never heal
I fly away in my mind
Sadly, I am bound my the chains of my reality
One day I will succumb
I will become their friend
Though I will never foget what makes me truly myself
Even though I will never do it again, I will never on my life forget that I am a bird and I was meant to fly
