If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

21 poems·Since July 2013

My name is a Kayla. I am an active duty military police stationed on the East Coast. I transfered to Eastern Connecticut State Univerisity and will start full time this fall 2014. I am very excited to be a part of a great school. My major will be social work. I am a photographer, a poet, and an artist. There is nothing more amazing than being creative. The power of poetry and art can be very moving and gives you chills. I grew up on a farm and love the beauty of nature. I'm an advocate for Non-Gmo and organic foods.

Writing random poems

May 4, 2014
I love writing, may it be short, long, cute, creepy, or just down right messed up. It's my favorite thing to do, to take a thought and make it bleed blue ink to white lined paper. It can make the heart skip a beat or shiver with fear. What I decide to write is unknown even to me. For if I read what I write while writing the thoughts may leave my head never to return. I shall write and write only to read it in the end to see if it was even a thought of or a dream. Sometimes I never know because I get lost in the sound of ink dragging on paper. There may be blood and death or love and beauty. I don't put my life on paper for I might screw up and have to start over. Our lives aren't set up that way to happen. We just have to keep writing until we run out of our breath of ink. We never see how much ink we have we just think that every day could be the last drop. Writing is our since of every communication. If we can not speak it in words we shall type it or let it bleed on paper. Our words are not always full of kindness and hope. The darkest words are sometimes shed upon our others to hear our warnings. Describing the world around us and the people in it isn't always so pleasant. However, there is always the someone who make the words so soft and gentle. They may being a curse of being damned or blessed to the heavens above. Writing and words may be twisted into our own games, but we have to decide what games we want to play.
