Smoke Going Up

June 1, 2016

The lies you tell speak the truth of yourself

Voices of loved ones floating around your ears

Telling you to stop are blocked by wax

built up from your ignorance, unwillingness, and selfishness

Take a hit to the head

Forget the rest of the world

Take another hit

Forget responsibilities

Take one more

Forget who you are suppose to be

It’s time to come back to reality

Handcuffed by the weed

Blinded by the smoke

Factory worker chained to a chair rolling a blunt

Roll another one

Get high

Let’s call this addiction

You walk around with a cloud of smoke cloaked as your shadow

Funny thing is, your shadow is who you are

But can you even see yourself?

No transparency

Just smoke going up

Constantly
