Fools

September 17, 2016

Story of life goes untold

mystery of peace is foreign

kindness and love has spoiled

and being carefree was disposed

Where have the listening ears gone to

why is peace so fake

how can kindness and love spiral  to hate

and what was done to the carefree

We are foolish

the listeners have never left

they hear your every plea

but if they are the only ones with ears left

who is to hear their plea

We are foolish

peace was brought through death

a necessary price they say

but who has mourned for them

those who died to keep us safe

We are foolish

kindness brings guilt

and love brings mourning

kindness is shunned

and love strikes mercy

We are foolish

who can ever be carefree

in a world of expectation

where listeners don’t listen

peace is never true

and kindness and love

is a thing like a dagger

to destroy the very soul

We are closed minded

So very foolish indeed
