If you don't learn to write your own story, someone else will write it for you

3 poems·Since December 2014

I fell in love with poetry when I was 11. I was not in a good place. There were a lot of things I was doing to ruin my life. I was lost.. My English teacher directed me towards it and for a while, before I got into heavy stuff, it helped. I'm slowly getting back into it. Poetry saves lives. I'm 16 now. I want to grow and share my work to whoever will read it. I'm obviously nowhere near a professional poet. I don't expect people to read what I write- everything that I have to say has likely been said more eloquently and thoroughly by someone else. I write for me. To express my thoughts, feelings, opinions.. It's liberating. Please share love, not hate. Too many people are damaged in this world to be damning. If you're reading this, I love you. <3
