With Nothing to Explain

July 15, 2013

Muted voices felt against your pulse

You aren't enticed, you're all the more repulsed

Tension wages war on your throbbing nerves

Never giving up 'til every penalty's served

every passing day adds a little more weight

Distracting just enough you can't concentrate

Sick to your stomach, what is it you ate?

Stuck on repeat, no one to translate

And you drag all your severed chains

Nothing you'll regain

Dead to the past, run out of pain

No reason remains to explain

Keep going, it's time to move

Memories may elude,

But ideas never, never remove

Never been about the feelings

Always been about the dream

Can't see straight in your line of vision

All the meaningless junk's another's religion

You do what you can so you don't relapse

Sitting on the edge of of your chair

They tip it back and laugh

Startled, regain your balance midair

Time to say a prayer

Find someone who cares

And you drag all your severed chains

Nothing you'll regain

Dead to the past, run out of pain

No reason remains to explain

Keep going, it's time to move

Memories may elude,

But ideas never, never remove
