I am not white, black, brown, or any color you can see
I am not female, male, or any other gender
I am not sexy, hot, beautiful, cute, or pretty
I am not anything you tell me to be
I am not what you see,
I am not the body I was given
I am so much more than what the outside offers
My soul is hidden,
Deep inside my prison
Can you tell me what I look like?
Am I black, white, or even green?
Am I any gender you've ever seen?
Is my soul gorgeous or hot or sexy?
No.
You cannot see past my prison walls of flesh
The body I was given and the labels thrust upon it
The title I was given in this world
The responsibilities I've been expected to uphold,
I didn't ask for them and yet here I am
Who I am, it's not been determined yet
But it will be known when these days have come and go
When the world has ended
In flame or ice, who will know?
Here's what I can tell you,
When all this has ended
When it all has passed
It will no longer matter
What labels you gave us
Whether you were black or white or brown
Whether you were male or female or another
Whether you were cute or hot or ugly
All that will matter is what none of us can see
The only thing that He will care about is the condition of you
Not the outward thing we dress up and desecrate
But the being on the inside
The soul that is you
That is what matters
Not these labels we stick on ourselves and believe
