Odd Egg

May 21, 2018

A wave breaks, it’s foam tendrils a running yolk

It’s deep dark yellow running blue

Swirling and twisting beneath the sun

To escape the scald which stretches toward it

Aching arms of butter and gold

The seafloor a shimmering pan on which to cook

A garnish of seaweed

A gentle meal
