Augustine

September 1, 2015

Resting at the bottom of my stomach,

it sits very still and silent.

I decide to move and so does it;

it turns and jumps with me.

My hand across my belly to

comfort it as it sleeps.

I can feel its heartbeat, faint and weak.

I laugh so gayly at its presence,

and cry at the miracle of its excistince.

The names I pick for her won't ever relate to her beauty,

so her name must be witty.

She wil take her fathers name.

9 months have goneby with little regret

She slips into my arms.

I promise her that nothing will harm-

My lovely baby daughter

Augustine.
