Temptations

October 13, 2013

Crossroads, Time to choose.
Which way to win?
Which way to lose?

Darkness pulls me one way,
My heart fights back.
Which way will keep me,
Keep me on track?

You say, embrace the sin.
It's a part of who you are.
I say, it doesn't define me.
I am more than these scars.

I am more than this provincial way of life.
I will not go down without a fight.
I will stand to face the dark inside.
I won't be consumed by the lies.
I won't be consumed by the lies.

My sin weighs down on me.
The temptations arise.
They taunt and tease me,
Try to break me inside.

But this heart's still beating.
This soul wants to be clean.
So I'll shield myself from death's mortal sting.

You say embrace the sin.
It's a part of who you are.
I say it doesn't define me.
I am more than these scars.

I am more than this provincial way of life.
I will not go down without a fight.
I will stand to face the dark inside.
I won't be consumed by the lies.
I won't be consumed by the lies.
