writing is a thing

December 6, 2016

writing is a thing

Writing is a weird thing.

Sitting with a blank canvas in front of you and having all the power in the world

To make someone cry, or scream, or smile, or question.

To play puppetry with the human on the other side of the text.

I mean writing is a powerful thing.

Its force can move someone to tears,

Maybe even to the point of changing them.

It has the power to make one think in ways they never imagined possible.

Wait, rewind.

It’s more than just powerful.

It’s mind blowing and earth shattering and has the strength of

A level 9 earthquake in someone’s head.

I’m telling you, it’s insane.

Writing is such a weird thing.

I just wrote this.

It’s a short little piece

Of words that have been clustered in the back of my mind for days now.

And I don’t even know what to call it.

Is it a poem, a story, an idea?

I don’t even know.

All I know is that I write,

And that writing is a very great thing.
