Success

October 31, 2016

I was told,

That sucess is measured with money,

Measured by popularity,

Measured by what clothing brand you wear,

By what phone you have,

Measured by who you talk to.

But I've grown up and realized,

That this version of success is overrated,

And completely wrong.

It's a lie,

And that's the truth.

To me,

Success is measured by me.

It's defined by my best effort,

From my hard work,

By my satisfaction with my accomplishments.

Success is defined by me,

Not someone hoping to show me up.

I will not be put down by another person,

Because they wear name brands,

Because they have a phone,

Because they have money.

I am happy with where I'm at,

And that is more than enough for me.
