Brain Stem

September 4, 2013

You try to run through my body as I race faster to that blue slide

Which puts my hair in shock

Like a first crush does

Only the hairs on the neck stands

I choose to race you

But my eyes shut when you wring my stomach

And I hear mommy trying to suck her tears back in

Like a vaccum cleaner

Cleaning up the mess she did not make

But is paying for it

Kiss me on my stomach

My forehead

Or wherever you wish to spread

But leave me after

No matter how fast you run

I will always beat you

I am five

Which means I run five seconds faster

And when you think you can make me sick, I am five medicine intakes ahead

I am stronger because I have five years on you versus a few months of your visit

Before you go

I wanted to tell you

It says, "slam what you will"

And I just slammed childhood cancer
