Alone in the Storm

July 13, 2016

I awoke to the roar of the heavens and the fists of angels pounding against my window.

Afraid to move I lay their still in my bed with eyes squinted and barely resisting the streaks of continuous light bouncing on my window pane.

The pounding noise in my chest and the hot air forming heat in the covers around me.

My ears pressed in the air hoping for a near end.

When the roar of the heavens angrier than before throw me in the arms of my covers again.

The enemy of silence surrounded me in my home and still I knew I was

Alone in the storm.
