“My dear, In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love. In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile. In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm. I realized, through it all, that… In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back." -Albert Camus

"Love's " Side Effect

May 24, 2014

She says she did it "because of him"
because she loves him, she'd explained.
But I can't help but think
Well, is that love?
When you give someone your heart
but all that surfaces in the end
are cuts and scars?
As if love could only be fully explained
by pain.
Well, I'll tell you what.
She doesn't love him
because she doesn't know
him
or because time has yet
to let her know him.
But I hope when she does,
she doesn't reach for blood
but a hand
because at least a hand can
pull you up
when
       you're
                drowning.
