I Do Understand

January 30, 2020

I do understand

that you are

completely oblivious

to my love.

I do understand

that my love

for you

is just a

figment of my imagination.

I do understand

you can't let anyone else

into your world when it

only revolves around

you.

I do understand

how I am

pretty enough

smart enough

skinny enough

funny enough

talented enough

just plain good enough

for me.

I do understand

that I

deserve

someone who will

love me

for me.

I do understand

I don't love

you.

I love the

romanticized version of you

I created in my head.

I do understand

you're not worth the

constant

self-loathing.

I do understand

finally

I'm better off

without you.
