You Don't

November 3, 2013

You don’t understand.

You don’t try to.

You don’t want to.

You can’t.

You won’t.

Why should you?

What am I?

An experiment?

Or shall I say a daughter?

Where were you when I was five years old and my knee started bleeding?

Where were you when I broke up with my first boyfriend?

Where were you when I got rejected into the academy?

Where were you when I failed my first test?

Where were you when I got pregnant?

Where were you when my husband left me?

Where were you when I lost my job?

Where were you when I couldn’t pay my bills any longer?

Where were you when I was all alone?

Where?!

Where?!

Where?!

Oh yeah, there you were.

Not here.
