The Will to Be

March 12, 2016

To fall away

To disappear

To never see the sun

To lose it all

To give it up

Admit you never won

To slash out blood

To choke out air

Allow your own demise

To stop your blade

To never jump

Your will to live’s too high

My will to stand

My will to walk

Will keep me moving on

My will to brace

My will to fight

Will keep my fears foregone

My will to try

My will to test

Will keep me asking why

My will to dream

My will to dare

Will keep me from goodbye

I live for them

I live for me

I live for futures grand

I’ll die for love

I’ll die for hate

But not by my own hand
