Night Dreaming

April 18, 2013
Night fell and So did her eyelids Said her sweet prayers Before off to sleep But as she slept So she awoke Not living, not dying Only dreaming In the clearing She stood alone Not a sound Not a rustle nor call The moon shone bright But the light never came For she was cold as ice As her sight became a vice Her skin turned pale And she started to shake As she stared right ahead And sealed her fate Through the trees they came Not pausing for breath As they ran right along Faster than wraiths Her clothes they slashed Her hands they scratched Her face was cut And at her body they snatched Finally they caught Her hair and arms And to the woods they dragged Her, where she belonged She screamed and cried But no one could hear And give the girl aid Who cried out in fear To the cliff they brought her A brief pause at the edge But only for a second Before dropping over the edge Down they pulled her Down to the dark below Down into the earth All alone, into Hell...
