When I Get Down

October 19, 2016

When I get down, I'm like everybody else

I just want to stop and put the thing on the shelf

So what do I do? It's only a few simple steps

First, I stop what I'm doing just like the rest

Then I take a deep breath, and feel it in my chest

Feeling better already now that I stopped with that mess

I move to something that I won't have to fight

Something as simple as grabbing a bite

Now this bite to eat has to have some meaning

Nothing can go wrong with a little T.V.

I get a laugh in here, I get a laugh in there

But  then I remember my worst nightmare

I return to reality with that thing on the shelf

And realize that I have to finish without any doubt

So I start again with one-hundred percent

For when I'm done I don't any regrets
