Pumping

September 12, 2017

Blood pumps through my body

Heart racing at the sight of you

The room feels stifling

But I know its just autonomic

Bodily responses from my proximity

To you.

When we leave I feel better

No

Worse

Grime coats my body

Your filth follows me until I'm home

I scrub all traces of you from me.

I know though

I know I came back stronger

I know I can do more next time

I know you pushed me

I know I pushed back

I know I won.

That's why I go back

Because I love you

Your adrenaline rush

Breathing through the pain

Suffering and thriving

All for my benefit

You resist me

But I am in control

My muscles contract

Gripping you harder

So you dig deeper

Tearing my hands.

But the pain is worth it

I am worth it

And then I go back

To train harder

Because I can

Because I love me.
