Pride

October 25, 2013

What were you trying to hold, thier hair, their hands, or your fate?

What were you trying to defend, someone's honor, somebody's fame, or your name?

What were you trying to prove, courage, bravery, or strength?

What were you trying to incite, fear, sorrow, or pain?

What were you trying to refute, a name, an idea, or the truth?

Whatever it was, congratulations, you earned a black eye.

It didn't cost much, just a few friends, some trust, and sensible sight.
