Silver Binding

October 4, 2013

Open the book

and indulge in the pages

Soak up the words

which number the stars.

Bask in the warmth

of a Sunny day

and ride the waves

of another's adventure.

And when the last page

rustles and sighs

and the final word

meets the tip of the tongue

and leaks like a raindrop

into deep space

see that your life is just such a thriller.

Realize, here,

there are those who blunder,

Those born into

impossible chance,

and those who are shadowed

with bad luck stormclouds.

All of these souls

whom struggle and strain

are gifted with

silver binding

which holds back

chilly rain.

For failures who fall prey

to the world's wicked fate

write unforgettable novels

on which others do dwell

in an eternity of echoes

through the stories they tell.
