Sometimes

February 20, 2015

Energetic Sporty Intelligent

This is what people see when they look at me.

I've come to accept these titles given,

But I wish the truth could be seen.

I love to volunteer and be as involved as I can,

But sometimes my happiness comes in

A book about talking sheep

Cooking a nice meal

Or just plain tranquility

A starter on my lacrosse team,

I seem to have it all.

But sometimes my happiness comes in

Laying on the couch all day

Eating three bags of potato chips

Or never getting off the computer

A great GPA and a course full of advanced classes,

It looks as though nothing can stop me from succeeding.

But sometimes my happiness comes in

Daydreaming about outer space

Writing a fantasy novel

Or just taking a break.

There is no poetic way to say it,

As there is no rhyme and reason to life,

But somehow, some way, I'll make it all right.
