Narrative of Modern Man - Intro

June 25, 2013

The narrative of modern man, lost in the void
of infinite blackness, dreams destroyed

apart from the herd, apart from the gander
probing the streets in search of disaster.

Mindless wanderings, actions unknown
looking into blackness, the death of our own;

clawing and scratching at our own mortality,
blaspheming the god who created reality.

In pursuit of wonders evil knows well,
attempting to wade through an earthly hell.

Human we are, but immortal we seek to be
excreting into our hands the fumes of sanity;

divine we are, within and without
yet we poison ourselves with the seeds of doubt.

Here is the narrative of  modern man
listen and learn, if you can
to the rolling sighs of an exhausted land
