Nightmares

May 26, 2014

Night after night, I somehow find myself
closer to you than I have ever felt.
The time spent with you seems eternal.
I feel as if I know everything about you,
even when you don't speak.
I feel as if I am intimate with you,
even when we don't touch
Such things only exist in my dreams,
where my hopes transform into nightmares.
In reality, I never knew you at all.
My nightmares soon dismissed my reality,
only embracing hope and happiness
within my dreams.
I have become addicted to my nightmares.
