How to

July 24, 2014

Maybe if his mama gave a damn,

he would have more sense.

If his daddy didn't leave him,

he wouldn't depend on the streets

to teach him

how to be man.

how to fight

how to sag his pants

how to sell dope

how to pimp hoes

how to slap his babymama

how to represent his set

how to hold a gun

how to use profane language

how to put fear in my heart

how to be a real nigga

how to tell lies

how to hurt his grandmother

how to have 3 kids by 21

how to act tough

how to get sloppy drunk

how to tie a du-rag

how to flaunt his chain

how to forget his talent

how to trust his "brothers"

how to walk with a dip

how to live like a king

how to be a King

how to wear it on his sleeve

how to stand on a corner

how to stay there all night

how to fuck the police

how to fuck the world

how to hate himself

'Cause if he loved himself,

he would see what I saw:

Tears running down my granny's

face

when any other time she'd be so

strong

Now she sat.

crippled, helpless, guilty.

I played the Blame Game in my

head

But it didn't matter,

who was responsible

why it happened

what he had done.

An unnamed bullet flew through

the window in the middle of the

night,

missing my head by 2 inches.

The Vice Lords wanted revenge.

My cousin wanted love.

My granny wanted peace.

But I just wanted it to end
