Unacceptance

January 10, 2014

Have you heard that song?

The lady sings, "I can't change! Even if I tried. Even if I wanted to."

What about the other people aorund you?

Would they change their minds?

Would they simply tolerate?

Or would it be about hate?

I've come out to my family.

"Mom, I'm just not straight!"

My mom does not hate.

But the rest of my family?

My sister says, "I hate what you've become"

My brother's actions were never "fun"

The absue started.

My siblings did everything to bring me down

I smiled, and did not frown.

I did not frown in front of them.

I cried until no more tears would run.

I tried to hide it, slowly I became undone.

So if I could change anything

It would be the unacceptance

To turn hate into at the very least tolerance.
