Frozen depression
There is comfort in depression.
The sadness envelops you like a warm blanket after a cold night.
Until the blanket cools down.
You just do not notice it, because your feelings seeped out with the warmth of the blanket.
Leaving nothing but absence where there once existed something,
yet you cannot remember when that something existed,
because it means the absence was not there, and it has always been there.
Following you like a stray cat once give even a scrap of food.
Even if you are able to notice your teeth and limbs chattering from the cold.
You cannot do anything as you have already frozen.
And when frozen hands meet the cold water, it feels warm – comforting.
Yet when met with the same lukewarm liquid it burns – fearing getting hurt you pull away.
Fearing the supposed good because you have been hurt before.
Fearing happiness because every time you feel its wonderful warmth something rips it away.
