Four Midnights Missing

September 30, 2019

Icy, bone piercing cold

Dark and alone I stood there mentally debating

Fourth midnight missing

anxious hopeful forgotten

Waiting for him to return but the morning sun came instead

Reality invading tormenting my dreams

By the grave I saw his love

I marveled at the thought of my departure

On that day my soul grew mean

I descended deep into the darkness abiding
